Get more powerful data analytics with CBM Plus

CBM Plus users get early access to new transaction data, more comprehensive and granular historical data, and research publications.

Rhodium Group’s China Cross-Border Monitor (CBM) provides actionable data on China’s global economic footprint for business leaders, policymakers, and the broader public. In line with our mission to increase transparency of China’s overseas economic footprint, much of our data and research is free to the public. Our CBM Plus accounts offer more granular access to data and research for governments, businesses, researchers, and civil society groups.

What CBM Plus users get

  • Early access to data: Our team publishes public updates to our datasets on a regular quarterly basis. Plus users get access to new data more frequently and before the general public.
  • Granular data: Our work is powered by a transactions-based accounting of China’s global economic footprint. Plus users can see the details—including location, value, industry, and more—for each of the individual transactions that make up our database.
  • Research publications: Our team of experienced China analysts produces regular research notes based on CBM data. Plus users get access to notes and data features not accessible to the general public.

And how they use it

  • Governments use our data to formulate investment promotion strategies, monitor and evaluate potentially problematic transactions, and support the creation of China de-risking strategies across various policy planning areas.
  • Businesses use our data to track the overseas expansion of Chinese competitors in their industry, identify collaborators or acquisition targets, and inform their global supply chain de-risking strategies.
  • Philanthropies, researchers, and other civil society actors use our data to assess the local impacts of Chinese investment and engage with Chinese multinationals on global issues such as decarbonization or ESG compliance.
